Glasshouse City was written and self-produced by LIJO during lockdown times in 2020. Unable to physically meet, the song was sent back and forth between her and Mirthe de Jonge, who frequently accompanies LIJO on stage playing electronic cello and singing backings.
The song is the first ballad that LIJO releases and narrates about loneliness, invisibility, the feeling of being captured and the longing for connection.
The video was shot in Studio Apparatus by Desirée Coumans.
